The real kicker with this trip though, has to be learning to kitesurf. Kitesurfing & Tarifa Trip

Kitesurfing instruction

The kitesurf course consists of 10 hours which includes theory, beach instruction and time in the water. You start off learning about the safety aspects of kitesurfing, done without the proper instruction it can be a fairly dangerous activity so it is important to learn correctly.

You will learn about the equipment, how to read the weather and how to position kite correctly. Once this is understood you move onto controlling the kite, under the watchful supervision of our UK instructors they will be looking to develop your control skills, before you move on to body dragging. This is where you really get to grips with the power of the kite, using it to drag yourself down the beach in a controlled (or sometimes not) manner. Everyone is different, some people pick it up faster than others but usually you are in the water within three hours.

Then you learn the really fun stuff, standing up on your board and how to become a kitesurf legend ripping through the waves and pulling off some extreme jumps to really spice things up.

Wind

Obviously a pretty major component of learning to kitesurf is the wind, so there is not a set itinerary for your lessons, these will be scheduled locally when the wind conditions are right, so there will be some degree of flexibility in the tuition. This does mean you might miss one or two language lessons if there is an overlap with the weather and your language classes, however we try to avoid this situation if at all possible.

Of course wind is not usually a problem in Tarifa, a few hours up the coast, once your skills are up to the challenge we will be taking a road trip up there to kitesurf in this top kiting location. Check out our YouTube channel on kite surfing in Tarifa to see what all the fuss is about.

Spanish cuisine

You can’t come to the Costa Del Sol without trying some paella, so during the week you will be taken out to dinner with the rest of the group to eat this mouthwatering Spanish delicacy. Of course it might not be as delicious as it should be because you will in fact be doing the cooking, because we can teach you how to make the dish!

If you have any room left over you’ll be pleased to know there are hundreds of tapas bars located on your doorstep (Tapas are small snacks that he can wash down with a cool glass of San Miguel (which is brewed in Malaga)) be warned all this tasty food is incredibly Moorish.

Language lessons

Spanish lessons of fun and educational with native Spanish speakers take place twice per day. There are two main sessions in the morning and in the afternoon with up to 4 hours per day. There’s plenty of downtime to explore the city, hit the beach and hang out with your new friends. Both beginners and intermediates are very welcome to join as classes are tailored to your level so whether you want to pick up the lingo or improve your already strong Spanish levels you will be well looked after.

Do More…

With Malaga being located on the south coast you are just a stones throw from Africa so for the really adventurous you can do weekend trip to Morocco to go haggle in the markets, and eat some tagine.

Accommodation

Depending on numbers in the group you will be housed in either a hostel located near the school or in an apartment breakfast is included at lunch and dinner you have to pay for locally however there are plenty of inexpensive restaurants and eating out is a very social activity in Spain so you’re not tied to eating in one place.

The accommodation is in a central Malaga location right in the heart of the action.
