From Vancouver, we cross the up-and-down landscape of grey, snow-dusted mountains and dark conifers. Set within a glorious range of mountains; Kelowna is blessed with lakes, pine forests, vineyards and beaches. We set up camp beside a pristine glinting lake, far removed from the city you started in, before you enjoy getting to know your fellow travellers on your first evening together in wine country.

Day 2-3: Yoho National Park

View the alpine meadows of Mount Revelstoke National Park en route to Yoho National Park. Hike or negotiate the rapids of the well-named Kicking Horse River. In any case, the tumbling cascades, glassy lakes and glinting peaks are drop-dead gorgeous… not to mention the glaciers. Your leader will take you to see some of the most incredible vistas within Yoho national Park, first Takakkaw Falls falling from the mountains to the valley below, followed by the incredible Emerald Lake with its glacial hues forest backdrop.

Day 6: Lake Louise

A nickname like the “gem of the Rockies” is a lot to live up to, but it’s no sweat for Lake Louise. The imposing château looks on as mountains cluster round the turquoise surface. As for you, well, you could always hike out to the Plain-of-Six-Glaciers or inspect the scene by paddle power on an optional canoe trip.

Day 7-8: Jasper National Park

The widescreen scenery keeps on coming. The breathtaking Icefields Parkway provides a peach of a drive with panoramic views of endless valleys, sheer ridges, glaciers and spruce forests – truly one of the world’s ultimate drives. Jasper’s wildlife puts up a fight for your attention too; the sharp-eyed may glimpse grizzlies, wolves or caribou. This sprawling natural expanse offers bike trails, helicopter flights and ice-walks through the most spectacular scenery that the Canadian Rockies offers.

Day 9: Wells Grey Provincial Park

The stillness, silence and isolation go up another notch.
