    June to August is the best time to visit when rainfall is at its lowest, but you can visit Mozambique at any time of the year.

    Getting to Tofo

    It is best to fly into inhambane with LAM airlines, however you can taker a bus from Maputo. You will be picked up from the airport in inhambane.

    Tofo town is situated 22km outside Inhambane town. This picturesque town was often referd to as " the land of the good people " by the early explorer Vasco Da  Gama.
    Inhambane is alive with a mix of cultures which infuse Arabic, African and European styles.The town has seen at least ten centuries of habitation and its easy to loose yourself wondering through the tree lined streets.

    Tofo is a quaint seaside town situated close to an infamous point halfway between Jangamo and Barra .This point is marked by a Frelimo monument to fallen heroes.

    If travelling from Maputo, you are able to get an early morning bus transfer from Fatimas backpackers. Ther is a small local payment for this (about £20).

    Inhambane is approx 470 kms North of Maputo., and jouney can take about 6 hours.
