Kaikoura, dolphins and wine

19-11-2010 Kaikoura
Few places in the world can boast of such natural wonders as those offered by land and sea in Kaikoura ….
And all we did was drink wine. I know unforgivable. But is was rainy and grey and we did not go out on weeks and we could not take in anymore new adventures and we did not drink any New Zealand wine yet. I know still no excuse, but we had lots of fun!

We started with 2 bottles of nice wine on the veranda of our accommodation in Kaikoura at 2 pm. After about an hour we were with 5 people, 2 English, 2 Dutch and an Austrian guy. The pictures say it all, we could all not remember how the evening ended although I went to bed around 9 PM. We had drunken 12 bottles and ate 2 pieces of cheese, some nuts and an avocado on toast.

The wine was quality because we were in time for the bus the next day and none of us had a real hang over. That was Kaikoura for us. But what can you do there?
Whale watching, dolphin swimming. Visit the albatross encounter, surf lessons, diving, fishing.

Or go to the local wine shop and drink with new friends.
