Zanzibar
|
Imagine an Island with sandy beach so white they are perfect. With coconut trees lazily drooping into a turquoise sea, Zanzibar is a great chill out island, where you can swim with dolphins, cruise on Dhows, and check out the historic Stone Town. Watch out though, there can be some great nightlife in Stone town, with cool beach bars and fair numbers of backpackers enjoying their trip to paradise.
Pleny of optional activities to enjoy here if you get tired of amazing beaches:
-
Swimming with Dolphins, Scuba Diving, Snorkelling and going on Dhow Cruises.

During the Zanzibar leg you will stay in Nungwi Beach at the Nungwi Inn. This is located on the popular North End of the Island. It is a basic hotel, but located on a good stretch of beach, where you can also swimming in crystal clear seas.
All rooms have fans, En-suite bathroom, and a veranda with a distinct sea view.
There is only a great restaurant serving lots of curries and seafood but the hotel offers every evening barbecues direct on the beach.
Nungwi is the ideal location if you are into water sport activities. You can go snorkeling at Mnemba Island, cruise with local dhows, deep sea fishing, sailing, kayaking and more. Nungwi is also the top diving spot on Zanzibar, with lots of reefs, perfect for scuba diving.
The Serengeti
Few game parks can measure up to the Serengeti, it is the crown jewel in African Wildlife locations and the venue for the yearly Wilder-beast migration.
All of the big 5 can be seen here:

The Ngorogoro Crater
Imagine a huge crater caused by a meteor strike millennia ago forming a perfect natural bowl. In this space lives and African Wildlife ecosystem that has existed and evolved for thousands of years. Due to the enclosed space, although still a significantly large area, you can see African wildlife with ease, and this is why it is one of the most popular Safari destinations. On the trip you will be taken here so bring lots of memory cards for your camera!
Optional Kilimanjaro Climb
Although not included as standard, many people opt to leave the group in Arusha and climb Kilimanjaro as a final must to Tanzania Gap Year activity. You can see more posts on the Kilimanjaro climb here.
