What next?
You can either fly back home (Phuket is the nearest international airport and is about 2 to 3 hours from Krabi by bus much shorter in a taxi), you can head across to Koh Tao to start the Koh Tao adventure, or learn to dive ask us for all of the exciting options in (Koh Tao). Or you can head to our fitness Boot Camp to get in shape before you head home.
Imagine one week packed with action adventure the best beaches you could possibly imagine. In fact there's a good reason why we call this the beach experience, not just because you spent the night in Maya Bay, waking up to the sound of the ocean lapping against the most amazing white sandy beach (voted in the top 10 beaches in the world) but because of this week-long adventure we will spoil you so much with so many beautiful beaches that no holiday can ever be the same again!
The trip takes place in a couple of different locations, not that far from each other but all different in flavour so that by the end of the week you will have experienced lots of different and interesting sides to Thailand.
The trip starts in Phi Phi, well-known for being one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand, and you will spend three days here. Staying in a resort close to the idyllic beaches, everything is at your fingertips with plenty of optional extras to keep you busy if you could tell yourself away from sunbathing and hanging out at the cool beach bars.
If you want to get Xtreme there is good rock climbing, Cliff jumping and scuba-diving to be had it Phi Phi, all available as optional extras, but the most lazy days spent snorkelling amongst a million tropical fish, sunbathing on great beaches and partying at night with the best of the in some of the lively bars is enough to keep them grinning. Arriving on the Monday, you make your own way to Phi Phi where you will be met by the Xtreme Gap rep and transferred to your accommodation. The day is yours to get to know the island a little bit (everything is walkable and there are no cars allowed on the island), you can stroll through the small little streets checking out the beaches (the town is sandwiched in between two great beaches connected by a sandbar), try an amazing Thai curry and generally feel content happy on a paradise island. |
Meeting up with the rest of the group in the afternoon you will be spending your first night in Maya Bay camping out on the beach used as the movie set for the Leonardo DiCaprio film. There can be anywhere between 25 group, and you arrive just before dusk to get an amazing sunset snorkeling in the crystal clear water.
Maya Bay site but if you go in the day as most tourists do the effect is somewhat ruined by just the sheer number of people, it's a great shame when some of the worlds most beautiful spots, touristy, the effect be ruined. But not here, we have exclusive rights to stay on the beach overnight, many strings pulled and the reward is so worth it. The evening unfolds with your Thai guides and hosts providing entertainment with fire shows, amazing food and a few buckets of Thai whiskey to help kickstart this huge party that comes inevitably with camping out on the beach.
The next day we had back to Phi Phi Don, stopping at monkey beach and the pirate coves, before arriving back in your accommodation to days of soaking up the gorgeous Phi Phi islands.
On day four, it is time to say goodbye to Phi Phi, it will have been fun but you will feel the need to move on, and we have some exciting adventures in store for you. Our destination is Ao Nang, a short boat ride away. Ao Nang is very popular with backpackers because it is right on the beach provides easy access to some amazing islands (more on that later) and has a great buzz about the town. Not a bad spot to be based for a few days.
Day five is an action packed boat ride to 4 different islands. Railey, Poda island, Chicken island, Talaywaek. On the menu today is exploration: some of the finest beaches and bays in the world, and due to the unique limestone cliffs found in this part of Thailand, some amazing landscapes.
Snorkeling equipment is provided on the boat, and it's a lot of fun. You will stop off at beaches, visit monkeys and take incredible pictures that will make your mates want to disown you on Facebook out of pure jealousy.
In the afternoon, it's back to the hostel and you are free to explore at your leisure.
Day six is another packed day full of adventures. You will go elephant trekking, visit Crystal pools and waterfalls, and even check out some hot springs just to make even more relaxed (as if that would be possible)!
Day seven you check out in the morning, you can leave your stuff at the hotel because there is one final adventure that awaits you. Today you're going to visit James Bond island! In 1974 the man with the Golden gun was filmed in this location, the day out will be sure to leave you itching to find Odd job and properly a little shaken (but not stirred), and as you are heading back through the turquoise waters of a National Marine Park, it's the perfect way to end the Thailand beach experience.
