Introducing the Shot over Canyon Swing. This is the worlds highest cliff jump, and it is bloody scary.
A mere 109 meters above the beautiful shot over canyon perches a little ledge, just big enough to accommodate a crew of complete lunatics, lining up like lemmings to jump into the abyss below. Encouragement comes in big doses from the the Shotover Canyon Swing team, who think they are very funny – complete wind up merchants. In fairness they are, until you are standing at the edge with your toes pointing down. Along way down. Then perhaps they are not so funny.
With lots of different jump styles to choose from (our personal favourite is the chair of death) or perhaps “Bin Laden” (jumping off with a rubbish bin on your head) this will be one of your adrenaline highs of the trip.
