Itinerary
The Brazilian Jiu-jitsu programme follows the Renzo Gracie Curriculum.
What's a typical class like?
We begin class with some light calisthenics and stretching. Following our warm-up we then begin drilling technique. These drills when done over and over help form muscle memory and help our students retain technique. After our drilling is completed then we begin to spar (or roll). Rolling is when students are able to put their techniques to the test with training partners who can resist and counter just as they would in an actual fight, providing valuable real-world experience should the techniques ever need to be applied in an actual fight.
The longer you stay the more you learn
it goes with out saying, if it takes you 12 years to become a black belt, you will not become a master overnight, but, training in Rio will advance your skills at a much greater speed than back home, why? because this is a dedicated training holiday, and life outside of the training is not bad either!
Blue Belt
The Blue Belt Program is the first level for adults (over the age of 16) starting their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. During the Blue belt programme you will learn the fundamentals of BJJ and basic techniques. Typical class structure is formed around a warm-up, with cardio, stretching and panda rolls and then a lesson in technique and partner training to practice the technique from the lesson.
Advanced Program
Not all people who join have limited experience if this applies to you you may join the advance classes.
Purple Belt
The RGA Advanced Curriculum is primarily focused on sports BJJ with the Gi.
Master Program Black Belt
This program is built upon three different curriculums: BJJ, BJJ No-Gi, and BJJ for MMA. The student will consolidate his/her Jiu-Jitsu game and complete the path towards their Black belt.
