This programme does not have a set itinerary, there are sheduled activities however.
On Arrival you will be picked up at the airport.
7 to 10 days before the start of your programme you receive a very informative pack to help you prepare for their trip. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you receive further welcome and orientation materials to help acquaint you with the city.
During your time in Buenos Aires there are loads of weekly free social activities to join in on, from tango lessons to city tours, you will have at least 3 free cosial activities per week included in the trip.
Our school offers a safe and sociable atmosphere for you to learn Spanish and experience real Argentinean life. You will live with a local family (with other travellers if you prefer) and take four hours of Spanish classes each weekday morning in our gorgeous Baroque building equipped with well-lit classrooms, outdoor patios and free Internet access.
The rest of the day is free for making the most of your time in Buenos Aires with other travellers. Whether you prefer to take part in polo, football matches, tango classes or seeing the sights, there is always something going on. There will be a notice board at the school detailing scheduled activities. Our co-ordinators are on hand to offer any advice, make arrangements and show you the best that Buenos Aires has to offer. Just ask if you have any questions or would like to organise extra activities, trips or excursions. The school is located in the centre of the city close to the Avenida de Julio, the widest street in the world. It is also close to the Obelisk, one of the key landmarks in Buenos Aires. You will be taken to the school on your first day by your host family, maps of the city are available at the language school. |

Tango classes
As the most famous creative expression of Buenos Aires, we offer a wide range of tango classes for first-time dancers to experts; all skill levels are welcome. Through formal instruction and dance floor practice, instructors cover both traditional steps and the latest improvisational techniques.
Photography classes
This workshop will give you with hands-on technical photography experience, while familiarising you with theoretical background of photography. Examine the creation of photographic art, study of composition, development, scripting, camera operation and post-production. You create an independent project of your choice in order to practically explore each of these themes.
Wine tasting
Titillate your taste buds and enjoy a professional wine tasting course. During this workshop you will sample some of the finest wines Argentina has to offer. You will be an expert (or just drunk) in no time.
Polo Experience
A full day at an estancia (traditional Argentinean ranch), the workshop includes polo classes in the morning and afternoon, a large asado (BBQ) for lunch, and horseback riding or watching a polo game in the evening.
There is an option to stay one night at the estancia, this includes a night's lodging and an extra dinner and breakfast the following day.
Fileteado painting
Fileteado porteño is a popular and decorative art unique to Buenos Aires. Its stylised forms of intense colour are painted to appear three-dimensional using shadowing techniques. Flowers, ribbons, acanthus leaves, dragons and birds are typical elements of the Fileteado repertoire, combined with phrases and images of popular characters.

When tutors and parents start bang on about making your gap year count, by doing something constructive, this is exactly what they mean. Learning or improving Spanish – the most widely spoken language in the world (well after Mandarin, but unless you are in China, that does not really count) – really demonstrates that you made good use of your time. Even if you are not on a gap year, Spanish certainly comes in handy on your CV.
With group lessons and intensive one to one (if necessary) combined with living in Buenos Aires and joining in some cultural activities, you Spanish skills will improve rapidly.
Your Spanish will improve dramatically with 20 hours a week of classes which you can take in the morning or afternoon. Next to Spanish lessons you will also be involved in 5 hours of Cultural Classes a week! A fun and engaging way for you to practice Spanish in different – non academic contexts – at the same time developing a greater appreciation of Argentine Culture (see after class activities below). You Spanish classes will be conducted in a superb environment, with 24 air conditioned class rooms, the facilities are some of the best in South America. There are 11 social areas through out the building: making it easy to meet new friends and fit right in quickly. This is important if you are travelling alone or a little nervous to begin with.
When you are finished with your Spanish language classes for the day, you can join in some of the extra curricular activities, like city tours, tango classes or even polo matches (for that Authentic Argentinian experience). You can also just step out of the door and explore exciting city of Buenos Aires with its distinctly European / colonial feel, as you are only a short walk from the cities major attractions like the Casa Rosada, Plaza de Mayo and Obelisk. All the cities main transport routes are close by as well.

On Mondays there are Percussion performances and for the football fans football games so you can show off your skills to the next Messi. The love of Polo is deeply ingrained in the culture of Argentina, you can watch a match or even take part in a game.
Forget you hop on hop off bus experience, we are taking about getting under the skin of Buenos Aires, with a guide who will show you the hidden history of the city, and take you to off the beaten track places that you would never know about with out the help of a local.
