Do I need to have experience before joining?
Hell no! That is the main point of a development course, you will become super amazing at surfing by joining this programme! We have complete beginners and intermediate surfers joining us, the main thing is that you want to get better and you love to surf!
How many hours of surf lessons will I get every day?
You will get two surf lessons each on week days: 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Weekend you are free! Next to that you can surf as much as you like, your accommodation is 10 meters away from the beach!
Can I use the surf equipment outside the surf lessons?
Yes, you can use the surf equipment outside the surf lessons. So if you would like to improve your skills even further, for example in the weekends when there are no lessons, you can use the surf equipment to go surfing!
What is the average age of the participants?
The average age of the others that take part in the Australia Surf Dude Development Surf Course is between 18 and 24 years.
How many others will there be participating in the course?
We have an average of 10 people participating, however many others will be there. This is because you will be training in the same place where surf tours come through. So there are lots of new groups arriving every week, but the number of people who are their long-term is 10 people on average.
Where will I stay during the course?
You will be staying right on the beach! We have one of the best surfing beaches in Australia, and you have access to it 24/7.
What is the night life like at the surf camp?
The nightlife is pretty awesome. Not in terms of loads of bars, but at the surf camp literally busses of people come in to stay to learn to surf or other are just travelling up the East Coast. So the action revolves around beach parties and BBQ´s. There is always something going on.
I am travelling on my own. Will I be lonely?
No worries. 80% of the participants of the surf camp travel on their own. Everybody is there to make new friends so you will never be lonely. You will have a great time with your new friends!
Why is there not a bus return ticket back to Sydney included?
We did not include a return bus ticket back to Sydney, because you maybe wish to travel further up North or decide to stay longer... We would like to give you this freedom of choice. If you wish to go back to Sydney after the course, we can help you book this. The return bus ticket will cost 130GBP.
What do flights costs to Australia?
Flights from Amsterdam or London to Sydney or other parts of Australia cost around 600GBP or €700. But it really depends on the time of booking. If you need help with booking your flights, please contact us.

Every day we take you to the friendliest and safest surf beaches, we use new learner specific equipment, as well as abide by Surfing Australia guidelines by maintaining a ratio of 1 instructor to 8 students. With major focus on ocean safety, equipment, respect for environment, and surf etiquette, our lessons are sound and experience complete.
