If you already have scuba diving qualifications, then we will tailor the training (and costs) to suit.
To become a professional Divemaster you need to complete more than 60 dives over a time frame of 10 weeks. The main dive site Julian rocks is rather special:
Byron is blessed with a unique distinction of the most easterly point of Australia, and it is at this point that tropical water of the Coral Sea collides with the nutrient-enriched water of the southern Tasman Sea. This special blend provides the perfect environment for tropical species to swim alongside more temperate-suited species. Your will be training 5 days a week and will be off on weekends, this gives you a great opportunity to explore the area. Nimbim is a popular location nearby and the surf in the area is first class. If you want to learn to surf (Byron bay is a great Surfing location and we will give you a free lesson to get you started!), hang out with the other Divemaster interns on the beautiful beach and meet lots of backpackers! |
So if you plan on working in the industry afterwards, you will need your own gear, and your own gear you will have. Brand new included in the price. If you already have gear let us know, we will tailor the price for you.
If you are not planning on working in the industry, your own gear is still really useful, as this generally makes scuba diving cheaper all over the world and we are sure it will become a new addiction.
