The Parkour camp is located in the US capital, Washington D.C. During your stay you will train daily with leading parkour experts and you will become an urban ninja in no time. Soon you will achieve the impossible, site seeing whilst catflipping off walls and buildings!
What is Parkour Parkour is a world-wide phenomenon and can be attributed in part to free running’s founder Sébastien Foucan, who introduced the discipline into popular culture through his impressive appearance in Hollywood blockbuster Casino Royale, Madonna’s 2007 Jump video and throughout her Confessions tour. Visually the sport is spectacular as death defying leaps are juxtaposed with seamless moves as the traceur flies through the air, under rails and off building tops with flawless precision. Described as a sport, a discipline and an art, this unique movement has soured to popularity on world’s leading video site, YouTube, becoming two of the most searched topics in 2007/2008. Parkour (free running) is about using your environment as an obstacle course to train the body's ability to move efficiently and effectively through any and all areas.
Special Parkour Training Week Each year we run a week long intensive bootcamp with some of the world’s best Parkour instructors.
On the Sunday you will meet the trainers and you will have an introduction evening and dinner.
- Monday 2 two hour sessions parkour training
- Tuesday 2 two hour sessions parkour training
- Wednesday 1 two hour session parkour training
- Thursday 2 two hours sessions parkour training
- Friday - about 6 hours outdoors parkour training
During the week you will be taken to various DC free running hotspots and film each other trying out your parkour moves, at the end of the week you will have a free running mission, talking you all over DC, to try out what you have learned and film each other in action. With any luck, you could be the next You Tube sensation.
If you wish to stay after this week you have the chance to join the gym's regular students in advanced training sessions.

Who can join the Parkour and Fitness camp in Washington DC? Parkour or Free running is a discipline that is open to all abilities and levels, although becoming an expert in Parkour takes a lot of training and dedication. If you want to learn Parkour (Free Running), our Parkour training academy will get you off to an excellent start. Alternatively if you are already practising Parkour, you will be able to hone your skills improving technique under the guidance of the world’s leading Parkour professionals.

Accommodation The accommodation for the Parkour training is situated in an unbeatable environment (and a long list of amenities – many are free). The hostel is near the city’s most famous attractions, only 8 blocks to the White House and National Mall, 4 blocks to China Town (bars and restaurants), 3 blocks to the Metro, 1 block to the bus and a taxi stand and 1 block from the Parkour and fitness training camp.
The rooms are standard dormitory-style but you can upgrade to private room accommodations depending on availability. Breakfast is served at the hostel and is included in the total package price.

What else should I know Parkour is a very physical activity and as such an intense training course requires built-in rest periods. These times allow for some exploration and tourism around the plentiful museums and historical landmarks that make up Washington D.C.
Parkour Training F.A.QWhat do I wear?
Wear loose-fitting clothes that are appropriate to work out in. Wear comfortable tennis shoes that can take some abuse and provide decent support and cushioning--we jump around a lot! When picking shoes, try to find a pair with flexible, all-rubber soles. Running shoes with a piece of plastic across the center are NOT recommended as they create a slipping hazard. If you have a water bottle, bring one, or you can buy one of our spiffy ones, too.
What should I bring?
A water bottle. Seriously, you'll get thirsty. Bring your own bottle. There's a water cooler in the gym to fill up, though.
How do I prepare?
On your first day, plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the class. The workouts start right away, and you'll need extra time to familiarize yourself with the gym, get changed, and sign waivers. Other than that, be ready to be challenged.
How will I ever recover?
Your muscles will ache, but no pain no gain! Light daily exercise and stretching, a healthy diet and rest will help keep up with the workout pace, and occasional cold showers do wonders. |
Itinerary
The Parkour and Fitness training programme.
You will start off with learning the basic building blocks of Parkour movement including jumping, landing, rolling, vaulting, and climbing. Examples can be found here.
The classes will also cover training elements such as how to construct a training routine and how to create drills for each skill learned.
You will receive 2 hours a day Parkour training and as fitness is extremely important, 1 hour a day one on one fitness training together with membership of the professional fitness facility to train all you want every day of the week.
The first half of the instruction will take place inside the gym in a controlled environment allowing students to get comfortable with some of the movements. The second half will be outside in a different nearby Parkour hotspot each day.
The D.C. area boasts some of the best and most famous Parkour training grounds in the US, all within easy access by public transportation.
As this is a parkour and fitness training programme, you can expect the level of energy required to be pretty intensive, we recommend you get training before you arrive, as you will be able to do more, if you are in good shape. Whatever your level of physical fitness, you can bet your bottom dollar, that this will be an incredible fitness holiday to remember.
