South Africa has everything you need to learn to surf . World class surfing instructors and waves to match!
On the learn to surf programme you will get 10 surfing lessons in total over 5 days in a premier South Africa learn to surf location, a short distance from Cape Town. You will get plenty of instruction time with the instructors, but should you want to go surfing between lessons, there will be surfboards and wetsuits always available for this.
Our South Africa learn to surf programme is located in Muizenburg. Here you will find the perfect beginner�s beach and mountains and views to take your breath away!
Muizenberg Beach offers you one of the longest beach breaks in the world and the the waves here are perfect for learning to surf either as part of a gap year or short break. During the summer months you can often be joined by a friendly seal might even get to spot a whale bathing close by in the bay.
The warm Mozambique current flows down from the East Coast towards Muizenberg making the water considerably warmer here than on the Western Atlantic Coast.
Accommodation
You will be staying in a beautiful hostel within walking distance of the beach and surf school. There are sea facing single rooms with private balcony and there is shared accommodation.
The bedrooms have varnished wooden floors, are clean and bright and are simply furnished, spacious and comfortable. Fresh linen and towels are provided. None of the rooms have ensuite facilities but large shower-rooms for Ladies and for Gents are located two floors.
There are 2 communal lounges - one with DSTV and the other situated in a quiet sunny spot. There is a spacious dining area that leads out onto the full-length balcony that overlooks the beach. The self-catering kitchen has a complementary tray of tea and coffee is always available for guests. The recreational room is equipped with a pool table and darts board.
The area also has five eating establishments within eyesight while a supermarket, banks, cafes and a couple of pubs, Post Office, liquor store and more are within a 5 minute walk. The accommodation is right on the beach in the same building as the surf shop.

When To Go
All year round the weather in South Africa is good, even in winter the days can be sunny and dry, however remember the seasons are reversed.
