Overall it was helpful. One piece of insight to share, when Jake and I talked about reviewing our choice to go on this trip, at first we thought it didn’t do much we couldn’t do ourselves… then after more thought, we realized that we were amateur backpackers who before this trip only had a week of backpacker experience each. The trip gave us the confidence to go visit South America. Also being American grad students, we only had a little over two weeks, and very little time to plan, The experience trip allowed us to get out sight-seeing and traveling every day, instead of sitting in travel agencies, for a short trip that’s huge!
