We’ll be there to pick you up from either of Bangkok’s airports; and then bring you back to our hotel where the trip begins. Settle in, and opt to either relax by the pool, or go for a stroll and explore your local surroundings. We’ll all meet in the evening where you’ll be able to get to know the rest of your group, over dinner and drinks on the infamous Khao San Road.
Time for some culture! Today we’ll see the city’s impressive temples and the giant reclining Buddha statue by tuk tuk, and enjoy a cruise along the Chao Phraya River on a traditional longtail boat. The rest of the day is yours to explore, try some local Thai cuisine, or have a go at bartering at some of the street markets in the city – you might bag a bargain! In the evening, we’ll all meet up again for dinner, drinks and more group bonding.
Scoffed down a tasty breakfast, before hitting a local spa. You can sample a range of traditional Thai massages. These are some of the best on the planet. Don’t worry there’s no funny business involved!
The afternoon we leave deliberately open, because different groups like to do different things. We can grab some bargains, check out more sites or chill before regrouping and heading to the train station for the night train.
One of the most beautiful places in Thailand the national park of Khao Sok awaits! Travelling by longtail through impressive limestone scenery, we will reach floating raft house accommodation. It’s a day of exploration, with kayaks, or if you want to go a little bit slower pure relaxation in an amazing setting.
Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast, after a morning dip in the lake; before we board a ferry & head across to Koh Phangan. When we get there, we head straight to the secluded paradise of Bottle Beach; another TruTravels favourite. It’s quiet, beautiful, only accessible by boat; and to make it better, we get pretty much the whole place to ourselves, staying in beach bungalows overlooking the ocean. Relax here for the rest of the afternoon, enjoy some volleyball, sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the ocean. In the evening we’ll enjoy dinner & some cocktails on the beach, complete with a campfire with our own private fire show. Paradise.
Wake up to the sound of waves lapping up on the beach merely metres from your bungalow. The morning is free for you to spend as you like; top up the tan, go kayaking, play volleyball, or just enjoy a lay in. In the afternoon we head to a local gym for some Muay Thai boxing training, Thailand’s national sport. After working up a sweat, we head to our awesome accommodation to freshen up. It’s got a great bar, and atmosphere; the ideal location to spend the the last nights of the trip.
Embark on a cruise around the island today, taking in the tropical scenery, enjoy some snorkelling at the best spots around Koh Phangan, and visit a waterfall (seasonal). It gets better though, we throw in a free bar, and lunch; and awesome day out. In the evening, head back to our accommodation for a dip, dinner and drinks.
Get ready for an epic day party! Slip n Fly is one of the latest attractions of Koh Phangan. Featuring one of the biggest and craziest water slides in Southern Asia. We spend the day here so you can choose to chillax on the day beds or attempt the slides. Don’t worry if you are not a big fan of heights or water slides, this place has much more to offer. It’s actually a day party with DJ’s, games, a volleyball pool, bar, sunbeds and chill out areas and of course the constant entertainment of watching other backpackers throw themselves down the slides. Then in the evening we will meet in our hostel for a UV painting session to get us ready for the Full Moon Experience. We will take you to the best pre-drinking spots before hitting up the full moon party in TruTravels style! Those of you hard core enough to make it to sunrise (the best bit) may even get to join us at the after party which starts at 6am! No rest for the wicked.
Depending on what time you stumble in from the party, you will probably need some of today to sleep and recover, so the only planned activity today is a nice Thai massage and possibly a film at a local bar. Unless you are one of those crazy party animals that decided to join us at the after party!
Today you will have to check out by midday. If you have not booked any onward travel then we are on hand to help plan your next footsteps. We can help you stay longer in Phangan, transport back to Bangkok or almost anywhere else in Asia. The world is your oyster!

Frequently Asked Questions
You will need to fly into Suvarnabhumi (BKK) which is the main international airport or alternatively we can also collect you from Don Muang (DMK).
The closest airport is Koh Samui which is a 45 minute ferry ride away from Koh Phangan. The ferries run regularly.
No it is not included but we can assist you with booking it all. You will need to get a joint ticket which consists of a ferry from Koh Phangan to the mainland and then a bus to Bangkok. The cost is around £25-30. Please be aware this can be quite a long journey of around 12 hours’ door to door. Alternatively, you can fly from Koh Samui however this option is more expensive and would cost in the region of £100 but saves time.
The accommodation for this trip is a mixture of twin share private dorm rooms.
Drinking goes hand-in-hand with the full Moon party, measures a strong in Thailand (hell you drink from a bucket, need we say more) it is important that you watch out your mates and consider your own limits. Whilst you will be accompanied the party, there are plenty of people there it can be easy to get lost in the crowd so make sure you keep it fun for everyone.
As with any massive outdoor event you will see people under the effects of drugs, please do not be tempted to follow suit, drug laws in Thailand carry the death penalty and just because you are English does not make you exempt. Staying with our group you will be safe but drug use will not be tolerated.
The first Full Moon Party was improvised at a wooden disco not far from the beach in 1985, for giving thanks to about 20-30 travelers. The parties gained fame through word of mouth, and the event now draws a crowd of supposedly about 20,000-30,000 every full moon evening, although we would dispute that number on average is probably at least 10,000 people there.
The party carries on until the sun rises the next day. The bars on the sunrise beach of Haad Rin town stay open and play music such as psychedelic trance, R&B, drum and bass, house, dance and reggae. The modern event has become a part of the itinerary of many travellers to South East Asia. Its attractions include fire skipping ropes, alcohol ‘buckets’, and meeting travellers from all over the world.
