Head over to the once-notorious Communa 13, to snap some photos of the famous street art and travel the escalators into the neighbourhood.
We start the day climbing the 650 stairs up El Penol Rock for breathtaking views before heading to Guatapé, Colombia’s most colourful town and an Instagram hotspot! Next up, get your coffee fix at a local coffee farm and discover why the coffee industry is so vital to the local community and why it’s the country’s biggest export.
Swap the city for the jungle! Catch an early flight to Santa Marta where we’ll be based for a couple of nights. Spend some time chillaxing by the pool and soaking up the hostel’s awesome atmosphere!
We jump aboard Jeeps for the day and head deep into the Colombian Jungle to Minca, a nature lovers’ paradise adorned with wildlife and waterfalls. Check out some of our favourite spots off the beaten track, before we head even further into the jungle towards the mountains. Spend the afternoon relaxing in giant hammocks at Casa Elemento, taking in the lush sights and the best views of Colombia!
After exploring Colombia’s cities and jungles, it is now time to head over to sandy beaches lined with coconut palms. We stay at arguably the plushest hostel in the country – Viajero Tayrona which has a private beach. Sip on a cocktail at the beach bar, play a game of volleyball, and make the most of the hostel’s facilities before having a group bonfire on the beach and cocktails in the evening.
Catch some waves in the Carribean sea during a morning surf lesson; a great way to wake up after your evening of cocktails the night before! Play a game of volleyball, take a stroll along the beach and bring out your inner beach bum!
Grab an early breakfast with your travel buddies before heading down the coast to Cartagena. We spend most of the day on the road before heading out in Old Town Cartagena for sunset drinks.
Arguably the highlight of the trip! Jump aboard a boat and head for Islas De San Bernado, a group of islands 2 hours away from Cartagena. Spend the next couple of nights, on a private island at Isla Roots, set deep in the mangroves. Optional activities are water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking and paddleboarding.
You’re in for a treat today as you head off the beaten track on a private boat for a Carribean island-hopping adventure. Spend the entire day making a splash, jumping from jaw-dropping island to island, stopping off along the way for a dip in the crystal clear waters swimming and snorkelling. We visit the most densely populated island in the world, stop off at the gorgeous and quiet Tintipán Island home to many exotic birds and stop off at Murcura coral island and Islote islands. A picture-perfect retreat!
After grabbing breakfast, we leave island life behind and head back to the mainland to check back into our hotel in Cartagena! Have a couple of hours to chill out, relax and freshen up for your last night on the town with your new-found buddies! We wander down to the enchanting Old Town Cartagena taking in the sights of this historic town and its colonial architecture, vibrant street life and delicious food.
