Itinerary

Day one

You are met at the airport and taken to our backpackers hostel in Table View. The hostel is within walking distance from Kitebeach, transport terminals, restaurants, bars and shops.
Early arrivals can spend the day either on a tour through the Cape Town city centre (optional extra) or simply relaxing on beautiful white beaches with picturesque views of Table Mountain.
At 5pm everyone meets at the accommodation for orientation and a traditional South African BBQ around the fire. After the good meal, roll down to the local bars and pubs where you can spend the rest of the night at your leisure.

Day two

After a farmhouse breakfast, a qualified kitesurfing instructor from Wind Sports will meet you. He will take you to the world famous Kitebeach that has an amazing backdrop of Table Mountain and a steady supply of wind and waves. Your first day of lessons will begin with:

      • Lesson one: Introduction to kiteboarding
      • Includes safety, equipment set up, understanding the wind and land based flying.
      • Lesson two: Water introduction
      • Includes large kite handling, self-launch and hopefully body dragging through the water.
      • Lesson three: Water skills
      • Includes advanced body dragging, water re-launch and basic board skills.

You are taken back to the hostel after an exciting day of kiting. Relax around the fire while a potjie; a traditional South African stew, is cooked. The rest of the night is yours to discover the local night life.

Day three

After a full breakfast you head down to the beach. Your final day of lessons include:

      •     Lesson four: Board basics
      •     Includes first water starts on a board and first ride.
      •     Lesson five: Supervised riding and tips
      •     Includes riding with power, change of direction and holding an edge.

You will now be an IKO accredited kitesurfer and will receive a certificate and card allowing you to kite anywhere in the world.

Days four and five

Free days or catch up days if the wind conditions have not been right at the beginning of the course

Providing the wind conditions have been suitable, you should have completed the course by now, so you are now able to hire some gear and go kitesurfing!

Finished with your kitesurfing? Head out into Cape Town and explore this awesome city. There are plenty of optional extra day trips to get the adrenaline flowing also, like Shark Cage Diving or head out on a safari to a game park. See the blog for more suggestions (we can also add on activities to your liking at the time of booking).

Day six

10 am. Time to check out, and head back to the airport or onward travel.

Accommodation

You’ll have such a great time staying at our chilled kitesurf base. What strikes everyone who stays here is not only how awesome the location is (with the undisputed best view of Cape Town and Table Mountain) but the atmosphere of the place is so nice and laid back. The perfect location, 5-10 minutes walk to the bus, 5 minutes walk to the nearest shop/bar and beach.
There is loads going on all the time, a good group of people so you can do lots in your free time, our friendly staff there will help you arrange some very good trips, like the Full Moon hike to Lions Head.

The accommodation is not downtown, however the city centre is highly accessible being only 20mins away, and the gorgeous Kitebeach is where you want to be, not stuck in the hectic hustle and bustle of the city.
