Sydney! We love it here!

31-10-2010

After the big night out in lovely Surfers Paradise we took the plain the next day to Sydney! And Sydney is so cool…if you know where to go and where to stay! Well we have some experts on that working with us so we have seen it all, in just 4 days we have been out, met up with other travellers, had great Asian food, stayed in great hostels, found great deals spoke to many many people and did the most exiting thing in Sydney harbor today!

The ‘normal’ Gap Year companies have this harbor cruise included. I will pt some picture in this post so you can check it out! I have never been on a duller trip! It was so dull that it got funny and we got the laughs. The boat was super big, went super slow and is not great to meet future travel friends… no ther was us, 2 homeless people and 10 Japanese people, a tea costs 3 dollar and the guy on the speakers told horrible stories about Australia.

We (Xtreme Gap) on the other hand include a super cool boat trip. Prepare to get wet! This jet boat spins, turn, jumps and shows you Sydney harbor with a sped of 85 km an hour! I heard people say hey did not have such a great time in years! It gets your adrenaline pumping and along the way they tell you some facts on Sydney.
The Hostel we work with is awesome. It is clean, modern, young and they thought of everything! Internet, TV,’s in the lobby with great sofa’s to lounge on. Up stairs you have lounge corners with big screen TV’s playing the newest movies, because Sydney is quite exhausting, there is so much to see and so much to party that you need to chill every now and then. There are great bathroom facilities, private rooms, dorm rooms, and a nice big kitchen. On arrival you get a bag where you put your name on, you can keep your shopping in this and leave it in the kitchen. There are 15 new computers, pay phones, so staying in touch with home is easy, they have wifi an ATM a nice restaurant with meals for 8 AUD and a nice club down stairs where different DJ’s play, free entrance! It is just a 1 minute walk from central station… The place to stay on arrival in Sydney!!

Also the Ultimate Australia tour starts here. This trips includes many extra’s and you can plan your own travel stretching it out over 6 months. Talking about that, it also includes a 5 day surf tour… we will do that tomorrow and be sure to get you lots of footage to keep you warm!
I want to thank Rod for his hospitality and letting us drink the nicest wines out there, Joe and Nick who let us stay for a night and who had an amazing wedding that we were invited too, we want to thank Steve, he made the Sydney harbour tour bearable, and off course Fiona (Fifi) for telling us all the must do’s in Sydney. I will certainly write more about that soon!
