Horombo hut (3720m) – Kibo hut (4700m)

After breakfast, (we recommend you load up on sugar) you will carry on your Kilimanjaro climb, the landscape becomes almost surreal, lunar: rugged and rocky. Lobelias begin to appear as you tramp ever closer to Kibo peak the goal for today is to reach Kibo Huts, these are located at the base of the final steep scree section heading to Gilmans point.

As you Climb to Kibo Hut you will really notice the thin air and every step will be harder than the next. The culprit is the lack of oxygen making the shortest distances twice as hard. Keep going, other members of the group will assist you as you finally head into Kibo Huts for some much need rest. You will not be spending a full night here, because you will attempt the summit in the middle of the night, to catch the sunrise over Africa and to assist the climb on frozen scree.
