Jasminka Hoek (Dutch Xtreme Gap)

Jasminka runs Xtreme Gap Jongerenreizen (the Dutch Xtreme Gap) since june 2011, the moment Xtreme Gap Jongerenreizen started.

She new as a kid that she wanted to travel. Her father traveled a lt and she loved reading his letter and listening to his stories.

When she was 19 she made her first travels to Australia and Thailand. She was so well prepared that she thought kangaroos walked on the roads in Sydney.

From that first travel experience she got addicted and travelling crawled into her veins. Not to know what tomorrow will bring is an addiction en next to that, cold temperatures like in Holland is not really her thing.

She fell in love with Thailand en during her gapyear, when she was 24, she did het Open Water Diver course. From that moment she only wanted to travel to countries where diving is beautiful.

When she got bored again with her office job and boyfriend in Holland, she decided to become a professional diver. Ze told her boss she would quit, her boyfriend became her ex and she sold her house to live in Thailand where she worked for 5 years as a Dive Instructor.

‘The best thing I’ve done in my life, she says. ‘Follow your dreams and let nothing get in the way’. ‘Don’t think too much, just do it.’

‘If you really want to achieve something, you can’ and every water lover can become a Dive Instructor (maybe it helpt if you are not afraid of fish)

Jasminka worked for 5 years as a Dive Instructor on Koh Tao, Thailand.

She now lives in Holland en loves to bring her enthousiasm about travelling and diving to others. That’s the reason why she is running Xtreme Gap.
