Australian Working Holiday Visas
Australian Working Holiday Need To Know.
If you are planning on travelling to Australia to find work, be sure that you qualify for a visa. If you’re planning a working holiday in Australia, these are pretty easy to obtain under the following conditions.
The Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)
is only available to people who hold valid passports from the following countries:
- UK
- Belgium
- Canada
- Republic of Cyprus
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland

- France
- Germany
- HSKAR
- Republic of Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
|
- Republic of Korea
- Taiwan
- Malta
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Sweden

To obtain the 417 Working Holiday Visa, you must also:
- Not be in Australia when you apply (or when the Visa is granted).
- Not have been granted a working holiday visa before
- Be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) at the time of applying
- Be applying with in one year of arriving in Australia
- Not have dependent Children with you in Australia
So with that in mind, if you qualify the visa will then allow you to:
- Gain entry into Australia with in 12 months of the visa being granted
- Remain in Australia for one year
- Exit and enter Australia as often as you need in that time
- Work in Australia for a maximum period of 6 months with any one employer
- Study for 4 months
- Extentions: You can also extend your visa for another year by completeing some agricultural work. This can include fruit picking or farm work. We recommend anyone thinking of working in Australia on a working holiday visa long term to start off with the Farm Skills Course, which actually guarantees you employment on a farm once you have completed the course. Making you automatically qualify for your second year extention.If you do gain a 2nd Year Visa extension, you may return to work for a further 6 months for an employer with whom you worked on your first Working Holiday visa.
